Author Kris Ann Valdez

Kris Ann Valdez is a desert-dwelling Arizona native, wife, and mother, whose roots in the Southwest often inspire her writing. As a freelancer, her essays on parenting, personal finance, and travel have appeared, or are forthcoming, in Business Insider, Motherly, among others. Her creative nonfiction won first place in the annual Tempe Writes Anthology and is also included in publications like Motherwell and Motherhood Magazine. Her novel-length work was awarded the 2023 Research and Development Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts.  Kris Ann co-created The Writerlies and actively attends Pen-in-Hand and the Central Phoenix Writer Workshops. Allison Remcheck of Stimola Literary Agency represents her.
