Kris Ann Valdez is a nationally published freelance journalist, editor, and children’s middle-grade author. She serves as editor of Queen Creek City Lifestyle and writes the weekly food column for DiningOut Phoenix. Her debut middle-grade novel, Nathaniel and the Worst Project in the History of the Fourth Grade, is written under the pen name Ann Val.
Outside of reporting, she enjoys hiking the Sonoran Desert, raising three children, and publishing The Guide Girl, a monthly Substack that helps writers discover publication opportunities.
